Cogeneration of heat and electricity

The technical concept of a combined heat and power unit is based on the simultaneous production of heat and electricity. A combustion engine powers an electric generator, producing electric power.

The thermal energy which occurs in the cooling circuit of the engine is fed into the heater circuit by a heat exchanger.

The primary energy supplied by fuel oil is therefore used twice, which allows for an excellent degree of efficiency.
